Spring Thing 13

I took a bit of a hiatus ... some time away as my day job overtook my life for awhile... but am now back and making my art a priority.  I still don't have everything figured out but I'm ok with that.  My goal is to keep having fun, scattering joy, and loving life.

We have a spring show coming up! Look forward to seeing you there...

Mission

Wow... I wasn't sure what to expect... how does this all work.... should I only have 'art' or can I include things that might be better classified as 'craft'...will I have enough... is this good enough....??

All these thoughts kept running through my mind as I busily prepared for the opening since moving into my new space less than 3 weeks ago.  Because even when you know and feel confident you can still have doubts.  Let me restate that... let me own that... I can still have doubts. Am I doing it right???

That's part of the beauty of what I'm creating.  I am trying to de-mystify ART a bit. I believe we are all artists.  I believe that art heals.  I believe that ART allows us to listen to our soul.  And I am on a mission to make it easy... accessible... and FUN! And make it OKAY to just do it!!!

As part the reception I decided to also have a drawing for a customized 4x4 mixed media collage.  Natalie D is the first winner and I'm excited to begin working on her piece, hopefully sometime this week!

Natalie will get to choose the color palette as well as tell me words or phrases she finds inspiring... I will share the photo once work begins!

Opening Night!

Friday the 19th was our Opening Night and Artists reception.  Amazing good fun.  I really loved having people in my space... it is a very creative space with good energy.... it confirms for me that having workshops is definitely something I want to make happen. 

Right now I'm playing around with the idea for 3 or 4 different classes and want to have things figured out for some winter sessions.

What kinds of classes would you like to take?  What is something you'd like to discover?

New Studio... New Start

Hi and thanks for visiting!  I just moved into my new studio and getting settled in.  I will be taking part in my very first group art show and artists' open studio reception on Friday.  

Join me on my journey and let's discover our inner creative together.  I'm an accidental artist working mainly in mixed media and move beyond the boundaries of traditional fine art and live more comfortably in the arts and crafts realm.




My intention is to provide a safe place to play and explore, both online and in my studio.  I'm planning out the upcoming year and have some fun ideas and would love to hear what you'd like to read about as well.
